Samsung 980 PRO (model code MZ-V8P500) is a solid-state drive with a capacity of 500 GB in M.2 2280 format. Connects via the PCIe 4.0 x4 interface and uses the NVMe 1.3c protocol.

Random read is up to 800 thousand operations per second (IOPS), random write is up to 1 million IOPS. The drive uses Samsung V-NAND 3-bit MLC memory and Samsung's own controller; it has a DRAM cache (LPDDR4 memory). Write endurance is 300 TB (TBW, the total amount of data written), and the mean time between failures (MTBF) is 1.5 million hours.

Dimensions are no more than 80.15 × 22.15 × 2.38 mm, operating temperature is from 0 to 70 °C. Installation requires an M.2 slot with NVMe support — the drive does not fit connectors that work with SATA only.
