Samsung 990 PRO is a solid-state drive with a capacity of 1 TB in M.2 2280 format. Connects via the PCIe 4.0 x4 interface and uses the NVMe 2.0 protocol.

Sequential read speed is up to 7450 MB/s, sequential write speed is up to 6900 MB/s; random read is up to 1200000 operations per second (IOPS), random write is up to 1550000 IOPS. The drive uses Samsung V-NAND TLC memory and Samsung's own controller; it has a DRAM cache — 1 GB of LPDDR4 memory.

The rated write endurance is 600 TB (TBW), and the mean time between failures (MTBF) is 1.5 million hours. Installation requires an M.2 slot with NVMe support — the drive does not fit connectors that work with SATA only.
